Fashion Dongen consist of 2 clothing manufacturers and embroidery/embellishment factory where your customization will take place. Come join me in the hidden NYC fashion industry where you will visit factories that you will never expect their locations come meet the creators of clothing and theater costumes as well as embellishments and embroideries. Samanta will teach you the steps of the creations of industrial machine embroidery as well as help you thru the process of customizing your own NYC souvenir by selecting embroidered/embellished templates you can personalize your item and select your color combinations for your take away.

Q: Is there an age limit for this experience? I'm thinking about buying this for my 15-year-old niece.

A: There's no strict age limit, but it's really best suited for teens and adults who can appreciate the fashion process and participate in customizing the items. Samanta usually mentions that kids over 12 have a great time! Just make sure they have an interest in fashion or design.

Q: What do you actually get to make during the experience? Are there pre-made templates?

A: You can choose between a tote bag or a t-shirt to customize! Samanta has a bunch of templates you can pick from, and you get to choose colors too. It’s super fun to see your own design come to life. Just be prepared to get a little hands-on with the machines!

Q: What's the parking situation like? I'm driving in from Jersey.

A: Parking in Midtown can be tricky. There’s a parking garage a block away, but it can get expensive—expect to pay around $30-$40 for a few hours. I recommend checking for street parking but be careful of the time limits. Public transport is usually easier if you can swing it.

Just did the fashion factory tour – totally worth it!

I just got back from the Fashion Dongen experience in NYC, and it was amazing! Samanta is super knowledgeable and made the process of creating my personalized tote so much fun. I got to choose colors and even picked a cool design that reflects my style. It was also eye-opening to see where all the magic of garment making happens. Highly recommend this for anyone into fashion!
