Q&A

Q: Is there a time limit for booking this tour? I'm worried about last minute plans.

A: You can typically book this tour up to a few days in advance. I recommend checking in about a week prior to your desired date just to be safe. If you need to reschedule, they're pretty flexible as long as you let them know ahead of time. Just make sure to confirm directly with Ancient Egypt Tours.

Q: Are kids allowed on this tour? What's a good age range?

A: Yes, kids can definitely join the tour! It’s a great educational experience, so I'd say ages 8 and up would really enjoy it. They’ll get to learn about the history of the citadel and the library. Just make sure to keep an eye on them near the water!

Q: What should we wear for this tour? Is it mostly outdoor?

A: Dress comfortably! The citadel is mostly outdoor, so wear breathable clothing and good walking shoes. Also, consider a hat and sunscreen since you'll be outside for part of the tour. The weather can be hot, especially in summer!

Just got back from the Qaitbay Citadel tour!

Wow, what an amazing experience! The view from the citadel is breathtaking. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the history, which made it even cooler. The pick-up was smooth, and they even provided bottled water, which was much appreciated in the heat. If you're in Alexandria, this tour is a must! I can't recommend it enough!

Thinking of gifting this tour, but not sure...

I’m considering this tour for my friend’s birthday, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Has anyone done it recently? I want to make sure it’s worth the price and the overall experience. Also, any tips on what to expect?
