Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the Lancaster Experience tour?

A: There's no strict age limit! It's family-friendly, and kids will enjoy the walking tour and ice cream stops. However, keep in mind that some of the Amish properties may not be as engaging for very young children, so it’s best for those over 5 years old. If you have a larger group, just check with the provider in advance.

Q: What should we wear for the walking tour part of the experience?

A: Comfortable, casual clothing is best! Since it’s a walking tour, I'd recommend wearing sneakers or walking shoes. Also, check the weather—layers are great for changing temperatures, and don’t forget sunscreen if it’s sunny. The Amish areas are pretty rural, so you might want to avoid anything too fancy.

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of the tour?

A: If it rains, the tour will typically go on as planned unless there's severe weather. The walking parts might be adjusted to indoor locations, and they often have alternative activities lined up. It’s best to call ahead if the weather looks questionable so you can confirm any changes.

Just got back from the Truly Authentic Lancaster Experience!

OMG, I just did the Lancaster tour with loKal Experiences, and it was incredible! We walked around the city and learned so much about its history. Stopping at the Amish properties was a highlight. The ice cream was the cherry on top! I’m thinking of gifting this experience to my parents for their anniversary. Do you think they’d enjoy it?

Considering the Lancaster Experience for my family

Hey everyone! I’m looking at the Truly Authentic Lancaster Experience as a gift for my sister’s family. They have kids aged 5 and 7. I read it’s family-friendly, but anyone have tips on how long the tour lasts? Don’t wanna tire the kids out! I also love the idea of the ice cream stop!
