Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for this Tundra Walk? Can kids join?

A: There's no strict age limit, but it's generally recommended for kids 8 and up. They need to be able to walk comfortably in the tundra and handle the dogs. If you're planning to bring younger kids, just check with Moon Dog Kennel to see if they can accommodate. It’s a great family experience!

Q: What should we wear for the Tundra Walk? Is it super cold?

A: Dress in layers! Even in summer, it can get chilly in Denali. Wear a good jacket, gloves, and sturdy shoes for walking. The trekking poles help, but good footwear is key since the terrain can be uneven. Really, you want to be comfy to enjoy the dogs!

Q: Can this experience be rescheduled if the weather is bad?

A: Yes! Moon Dog Kennel is pretty flexible with weather-related cancellations. They usually reach out to reschedule if conditions aren’t safe for the dogs or guests. Just make sure to keep an eye on your email for updates leading up to your scheduled walk.

Just booked the Tundra Walk with the sled dogs - any tips?

I’m so excited! I just booked the Tundra Walk at Denali National Park with Moon Dog Kennel for next month. I’ve heard the dogs are super friendly, and that it’s a small group experience. Any advice on what to bring or specific things to look out for? I want to make the most of this!

My experience with the sled dogs was unforgettable!

I did the Tundra Walk last week, and wow, it was amazing! The Huskies were so playful and friendly, and the scenery was something out of a postcard. The guides were super knowledgeable too, sharing facts about the land and the dogs. I can't recommend this enough!
