Q&A
A: Yes, there’s a minimum age of 12 years to participate in the safari. This experience includes a fair amount of hiking and being in potentially cold weather, so it's best suited for older kids and adults. If you're concerned about younger kids, they might not enjoy it as much due to the cold and the activity level.
A: Dress in layers! You’ll want thermal base layers, a waterproof jacket, and warm gloves. Don’t forget a hat since it can get super windy up there. Good hiking boots are a must, and if you've got gaiters, wear those to keep snow out of your boots during the hike.
A: Yes, Obsidian Expeditions is pretty flexible with rescheduling. If the weather conditions are unsafe, they’ll contact you and help you pick a new date. Just make sure to check their cancellation policy when booking, just in case.

Just got back from the Two Day Winter Wildlife Safari in Yellowstone!
Wow, what an experience! We saw so many animals in the Lamar Valley—elk, bison, and even a pack of wolves! The guides were super knowledgeable and made everything so interesting. The snowshoe hike at Upper Mammoth Hot Springs was stunning, definitely a highlight! Also, that mineral soak at Chico Hot Springs was just what we needed after a long day. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique adventure!
Thinking of gifting the Winter Wildlife Safari - any tips?
I want to get this for my parents' anniversary. They love nature but are not super experienced hikers. Is this suitable for them? What do you think? Any tips on making it special?
