Join us to see the underwater beauty near Captain Cook's Monument and Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park. Usually, at this time of day, the waters of the Kona coast are crystal clear and offer great visibility. View over 100 different varieties of tropical fish along with an occasional reef shark or sea turtle. These lively snorkeling spots are home to a variety of marine life. Your Crew will teach you a little Hawaiian history along the way. As you cruise, you will enjoy spectacular views of Big Island's rugged coastline, along with views of sea caves and lava tubes. If you are lucky, you may spot a pod of dolphins or a whale, which can be found here year-round (humpback whale migration is seasonal!)

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for kids on this snorkel trip? Would it be suitable for my 10-year-old?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be comfortable in the water and have some swimming skills since it can get a bit deep. We've seen kids as young as 8 have a blast on this trip as long as they're accompanied by a parent or guardian. Just make sure to bring a life jacket if you're unsure about their swimming capabilities!

Q: What should we wear for this snorkel trip? Are wet suits necessary?

A: You don’t need a wetsuit unless you're really sensitive to the cold, but I recommend wearing a swimsuit under a rash guard to protect from the sun. The crew provides masks and fins, and they also have pool noodles if you want some extra floatation! Just make sure you wear reef-safe sunscreen.

Q: Is there a chance of cancellations due to weather? How does that work?

A: Yes, they might cancel if the weather is bad, usually for safety reasons. They'll contact you if that happens and can reschedule for another day. But typically, the mornings are pretty calm and clear. Just keep an eye on the forecast!

Just did the Two Reef Snorkel Trip and WOW!

I went on this trip last week and it was AMAZING! We saw so many colorful fish, and even a couple of sea turtles. The crew from Dolphin Discoveries was super friendly and shared cool Hawaiian legends while we cruised by the coastline. They provided snacks and drinks too, which was a nice touch! The views of the Captain Cook Monument were breathtaking. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a fun adventure on the Big Island!

Considering gifting the Two Reef Snorkel Trip

I’m thinking about gifting this snorkel trip for my friend's birthday. She loves marine life and I know she'd have a blast. I’m a bit nervous about how it’ll go though. Has anyone done it recently? Any tips on making sure she has a great time?
