Your 3 hour whale watching adventure begins when you board a coach bus that departs downtown Juneau from the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. A 25 minute journey through the picturesque landscape of Southeast Alaska will take you to Auke Bay Harbor. “All aboard!” and you’re off for Alaska waters and the ultimate whale watching experience. The star of the tour is the humpback whale, but we are always looking out for sea lions, bald eagles, or the playful orca. The whales are here to feed in our abundant Alaskan waters. Our naturalist guides you on a 2 hour whale watching tour. With our experienced captains and Juneau being one of the best ports for whale watching in Alaska, this tour will be an unforgettable experience. A light snack and refreshments will be provided.

Q: What should I wear for the whale watch? Is it cold on the water?

A: Definitely layer up! It can get chilly on the water, even in summer. I'd recommend a waterproof jacket, warm layers underneath, and maybe a hat and gloves just in case. Don't forget comfy shoes since you’ll be on the boat for a couple of hours!

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this tour? Thinking about taking my 6-year-old.

A: No strict age limit but kids should be at least 5 years old for safety reasons. It’s a fun experience for kids as long as they enjoy nature and aren’t scared of the water! Just keep an eye on them since the boat can rock a bit.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Do they cancel the tour?

A: They typically only cancel if it’s unsafe or the visibility is really poor. If the tour gets canceled, they’ll usually offer to reschedule or give you a refund. Make sure to check the weather forecast leading up to your trip!
