This is one of the most amazing drives of your vacation! ...I'm Kel Thompson, the owner/operator and your tour guide! Yes, I do all my own tours (and stunts!) I've guided over 10,000 guests for multiple companies in my career here in Alaska and now offer my own private tours in an amazing new Mercedes Sprinter! Before guiding I was a standup comedian and combine humor with a fervent love of Alaskan history, and this all goes into your cruise transfer, which goes through the historic Anton Anderson tunnel and down the mountain lined Turnagain Arm! Along the way, we'll pull out for photo stops and a coffee if you would like! (Time permitting.) I am very flexible and want to make this part of your journey just as fun and memorable as the rest of your vacation! I have limited availability so book early and message me any special requests via the app you booked on! (I can accommodate private groups up to 10 people per tour.) Q: What's the best time of year to do this cruise? Does weather affect it?

A: The summer months are ideal for this cruise, especially June through August when the weather is usually mild and you can see more wildlife. That said, Alaska's weather is unpredictable! If it's rainy or too stormy, Kel might have to reschedule for safety. Just keep that in mind when planning your trip!

Q: Is there a minimum age for kids to join this cruise?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but it's best suited for kids who can sit still for a while. Kel is super friendly and makes it fun, so younger kids will probably enjoy it, but keep in mind the ride can be a bit long if they get restless. Just check with him if you're bringing a bunch of little ones.

Q: How often does Kel stop for photos during the cruise?

A: Kel is super flexible about stops. He usually pulls over at the best scenic spots along Turnagain Arm and in the tunnel if time allows. Just let him know when you want to stop, and he'll make it happen! Definitely worth taking those photo ops!

Just did the private cruise with Kel, and it was epic!

Had the best time on the Whittier to Anchorage cruise with Kel! He shared so many cool stories about the area, and the views were out of this world. Make sure to bring a good camera! The tunnel was super cool too. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Alaska!
