Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit, but it's generally recommended for kids 6 and up due to the long duration and nature of the tour. Since it's wildlife viewing, younger kids can get excited, but make sure they can handle the time in the van and the changes in scenery. Bring some snacks for him, and maybe a small toy to keep him occupied.
A: Yes! If the weather looks unfavorable, you can definitely reschedule. Just reach out to Yellowstone Hiking Guides as soon as you can. They’re pretty accommodating if you let them know in advance. Just ensure you check their policy when you book!
A: Layering is key! Mornings can be chilly, especially when you're near the river or up on Mount Washburn. A warm jacket, hat, and gloves are a good idea. You’ll warm up as the day goes on, but it’s better to have too many layers than not enough. And don’t forget sturdy shoes for the short walk at Mammoth!

Just booked the Upper Loop Tour, any tips?
I just grabbed tickets for the Upper Loop Tour in West Yellowstone! I’m so stoked, but I’m wondering how the wildlife viewing is. Are the guides good at spotting animals? Also, what snacks do they have? I'm a bit picky. Hope to see some bears and wolves! :)
Anyone done the Lamar Valley portion of the tour?
I’m considering this tour mainly for the Lamar Valley part! I’ve heard it’s the best place to see wolves. Can anyone share their experience? Did you really see any? How many hours are you actually looking for wildlife?
