Q&A
A: There’s no official age limit at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, but younger kids might need a little more supervision, especially on the ships. It’s super educational and fun! I took my 8-year-old, and he loved exploring the USS Drum submarine. Just watch your little ones on the upper decks since it can be a bit slippery.
A: The self-guided tour can last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, depending on how much you stop to look at everything. There’s a lot to see, especially in the Aircraft Pavilion. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes since you'll be doing a lot of walking. I recommend going early to avoid the crowds!
A: The best time to visit is in the spring or fall when the temperatures are milder. Summer can be really hot and humid in Mobile, so be prepared with water and sunscreen! If it rains heavily, some areas might be closed, but most tours go on regardless. Just check the weather before you go!

Thinking about gifting USS Alabama tickets - any advice?
I’m considering getting tickets for the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park for my dad's birthday. He loves history and ships! I’ve never been there myself, but I hear the self-guided tours are pretty cool, especially the Aircraft Pavilion. Is it good for older folks? Any tips on what to bring?
Just visited the USS Alabama - wow!
I just got back from the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park and it was amazing! The battleship is gigantic and the submarine USS Drum was such a cool experience. The Aircraft Pavilion had some jaw-dropping planes too. Can’t believe it’s all free! Can't wait to take more friends next time.
