Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the glacier cruise part of the tour?

A: No specific age restrictions for the glacier cruise, but keep in mind that younger kids might need some supervision during the boat ride. The private tour is flexible, so you can tailor the experience to your family's needs. Just make sure to bring jackets as it can get chilly out on the water!

Q: What should we wear for the glacier tour? Is it really cold?

A: Definitely dress in layers! Even in summer, it can be chilly near the glaciers, especially on the cruise. A good waterproof jacket and comfortable shoes for any walking or hiking are a must. Don’t forget sunglasses for the glare off the ice!

Q: How flexible are the tour timings if we want to stop frequently for photos?

A: Super flexible! The private guide really adjusts the timing based on your preferences. If you want to linger at a viewpoint for photos or skip a stop altogether, it’s completely up to you. Just let your guide know what you’d like, and they’ll accommodate!

Thinking of gifting the Valley of Glaciers tour, any thoughts?

I’m planning to give the Valley of Glaciers Private Tour from Anchorage to my parents for their anniversary. They love nature but have never done anything like this! The idea of personalized stops and the glacier cruise sounds amazing. How do people usually feel about the food on these tours? Is it worth upgrading to a sit-down lunch?

Just did the Valley of Glaciers tour—wow!

I recently went on the Valley of Glaciers tour and it was epic! The private transport was sooo comfy, and our guide really made it special. We took so many pictures at the viewpoints, especially at Portage Lake. The wildlife center was a blast too! Can’t recommend it enough, especially for families.
