Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for participants in the cooking class?

A: There's no strict age limit, but it's best suited for those 12 and up since the class involves some knife skills and stove use. Younger kids can join if they're accompanied by an adult who can help. Kavitha is great at working with different ages, so I'm sure she'd accommodate your group!

Q: What do we need to wear to this cooking class?

A: Comfortable clothes are key! You might get a bit messy with flour or spices, so maybe wear something you don't mind getting stained. Closed-toe shoes are a must for safety in the kitchen. And if you want to be extra cautious, an apron wouldn’t hurt either!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our class?

A: If bad weather occurs, you can reschedule with Kavitha. She's super accommodating and understands that New York weather can be unpredictable. Just reach out to her in advance, and she’ll work with you to find a new date. No worries!

Just did the Indian cooking class with Kavitha - WOW!

I just got back from the vegetarian Indian cooking class in the Upper West Side and I can't recommend it enough! Kavitha is such a warm and welcoming host. We learned to make three dishes, including a fantastic chickpea curry and a spiced rice. The spices she uses are like magic – I never knew they had so many health benefits! I went with my partner, and we both left feeling inspired to cook more plant-based meals. Plus, the food was delicious! Definitely a great gift idea!

Considering the cooking class for a gift - any thoughts?

I’m thinking about getting the vegetarian Indian cooking class as a birthday gift for my sister. She loves trying new cuisines, but she’s not the most experienced cook. Do you think Kavitha would help her feel at ease? Also, I noticed it’s in a private home. Is that weird or cozy? Any insights would be helpful!
