Q&A
A: You'll be provided with a good quality bike suitable for the terrain, and yes, e-bikes are definitely available! They really help with those elevation changes, especially on the longer routes. Just make sure to let the tour provider know in advance if you prefer an e-bike so they can have one ready for you.
A: Wear comfortable cycling clothes and definitely bring layers! Weather can change quickly in the mountains, and you might be sweating on the uphill but cold on the downhill. Don't forget sunscreen and a good pair of cycling gloves if you have them. They provide helmets, but if you prefer your own, bring that too!
A: Yes, you can definitely reschedule if the weather doesn't cooperate. Just make sure you contact Around Portland Tours as soon as you know, and they’ll help you find another date that works. They are pretty flexible about it, especially for safety reasons.

Thinking about gifting the Wyeast Cycling Adventure - any advice?
I’m considering gifting the Wyeast Adventure Cycling tour in Portland for my boyfriend’s birthday. He loves biking and I think the scenic views would blow him away. But I’m a little worried about the difficulty since it mentions significant elevation changes. He’s fit but not super experienced with long rides. Is it really as challenging as it sounds?
Just finished the Wyeast Adventure - it was epic!
I just got back from the Wyeast Cycling tour and wow, it was incredible. The views were jaw-dropping, especially riding down to Hood River. The trails were well-kept and the snacks they provided were a nice touch. I did the 40-mile route and it felt challenging but really fun. Definitely recommend it if you're considering! Just be ready for some hills.
