Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this whale watching tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but they do recommend that kids be at least 5 years old to fully enjoy the experience. It’s a 2-hour tour, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing younger ones. The boat is also pretty stable, which helps if they get a bit restless. Also, parents should bring snacks just in case!

Q: What should we wear on the whale watching trip? Is it chilly on the boat?

A: Definitely wear layers! It can get a bit breezy out on the water, especially if you’re moving fast. A light jacket or windbreaker is a good idea, and don’t forget sunscreen. Also, wear non-slip shoes since the deck can be wet. You’ll want to be comfortable for the 2-hour ride!

Q: What if the weather is bad? Will the tour still go on?

A: If the weather is really bad, they might reschedule for safety reasons. They do their best to notify you in advance if that happens. It's a good idea to check the forecast before booking, though. Worst case, they’ll give you a refund if you can't make it due to weather cancellations!

Just got back from the whale watch! What an experience!

I just did the VIP Premiere Whale Watch from Kaanapali Beach, and wow it was unbelievable! We saw multiple humpback whales breaching and even got to hear them sing! The guides were so knowledgeable and made it fun for everyone. The boat holds a max of 12 passengers, which is nice because it felt really personal. Definitely worth the price!

Considering this as a gift for my whale-loving friend!

I’m thinking about giving the VIP whale watch experience to my friend who’s obsessed with marine life. The tour leaves from Kaanapali Beach, which is perfect since that’s where we’ll be staying! Just trying to figure out if it’s really worth it. Anyone done this yet? Any tips?
