This in-water manatee snorkel experience is EXTRA special since the 6-passenger boat is strictly dedicated to you and your party and includes a FREE photo package. ($40 value.) Each winter between 700 and 1000 manatees migrate here seeking out our three first magnitude spring systems, each with a constant temperature of 72° to 74° F (23° C). Even in the warm summer months, Crystal River has a local population of 70-100 manatees that remain here year round. Due to efforts by many local, state and federal entities, our manatee population is thriving. We feel that an in-water swim experience is an important part of this education and conservation effort. Our team of highly trained in-water guides ensure your experience with this cherished and threatened species is handled with the utmost care and respect by encouraging passive observation.

Q: What should we wear for the manatee snorkel tour? Is it cold in the water?

A: You'll want to wear a swimsuit underneath the wetsuit they'll provide, as the water's around 72° to 74°F. The wetsuit helps keep you warm, but it can feel a bit chilly when you first get in. Just make sure to bring a towel and some comfy clothes for after your snorkel!

Q: How many people can fit on the boat? Is it OK for kids?

A: The boat fits up to 6 people, so it's great for a small family or group. Kids are absolutely welcome, but just check if they meet the age requirement for snorkeling. They’ll need to be comfortable in the water, so it might be best for kids ages 8 and older.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our tour?

A: If bad weather comes in, they'll usually try to reschedule you for another day. Just be sure to check their cancellation policy when you book. It's Florida, so the weather can change quickly, but they’re pretty good about keeping you informed!

I took my family on this tour in Crystal River last month and it was seriously one of the best days ever! The boat was so comfortable, and our guide was super knowledgeable about the manatees.
