Q&A

Q: Can this tour be done as a last-minute gift? What's the booking window?

A: Yes, you can book this tour relatively last-minute, but it's best to give at least 48 hours notice. The team at Ohana Private Car & Fun is super accommodating, though! Just reach out, and they’ll see what they can do. Keep in mind, popular times might fill up quickly, especially for the lava viewing at night.

Q: What should I wear for the Volcano Tour? Is it muddy?

A: Definitely wear comfortable hiking shoes since parts of the park can get a bit muddy! I'd suggest layering up—Hawaiian weather can change quickly. A light rain jacket might be useful, and don’t forget sunscreen. Oh, and maybe bring a hat for the sun!

Q: Is it suitable for kids? What's the age limit?

A: Yes, this tour is generally suitable for kids! There's no strict age limit, but keep in mind some walkways can be uneven. It's a great opportunity to teach them about volcanoes and nature! Just make sure they’re old enough to walk and enjoy the views.

Just did the Volcano Tour and it was incredible!

I just got back from the Volcano Tour from Kona and wow, what an experience! Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. We visited the Lava Tube and even got lucky with some lava sightings! We stopped at Punalu'u Bakery for some amazing sweet bread, and the views of the Halema'uma'u Crater were breathtaking. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting a unique experience on the Big Island!

Considering the Volcano Tour for my sister's birthday!

I'm thinking about gifting my sister this Volcano Tour for her birthday. She's an outdoor junkie and loves Hawaii. I’m curious if anyone has done the night tour to see the lava glow? I'm just worried about the weather affecting it. Would love any advice!
