Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this tour?

A: There's no strict age limit! This tour is designed for everyone, but younger kids might need some extra help with walking at certain locations like Akaka Falls. Just keep in mind that it's a 10-hour day, so plan for their energy levels. The guide can adjust the itinerary based on the group's needs, which is great.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: Great question! They offer flexible rescheduling options if the weather isn't cooperating. Usually, they'll reach out the day before to confirm the best plan. Just make sure you communicate your availability to the tour operator, and they’ll help you find a new date.

Q: What should we wear for the Volcanoes and Waterfalls tour?

A: I'd recommend wearing comfy clothes and sturdy shoes since you'll be walking around volcanic terrains and trails. Layering is key; it can get chilly near the waterfalls and warm up as you explore. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat—Hawaii sun is no joke!

Thinking of booking the Volcanoes and Waterfalls tour – any tips?

I'm considering this as a gift for my parents when we visit the Big Island next month. The customizable aspect sounds awesome! I’m curious if the lunch they provide is good, and how long it takes to get from place to place. My folks are in decent shape but not super fit, so I want to make sure it’s not too strenuous.

Anyone done the private tour? Worth it?

I went on the Volcanoes and Waterfalls tour last month, and it was amazing! The guide knew so much about the history and took us to spots we would’ve never found on our own. The black sand beach was incredible! Just make sure you wear good shoes for the trails, especially at Akaka Falls.
