Q&A

Q: Is this tour suitable for kids? My family has a 7-year-old and a 12-year-old.

A: Yes, this tour is definitely suitable for kids! There are no strict age limits, and the local guides are great with families. Just keep in mind that the hike might be a bit challenging for younger kids, so be prepared for some walking on uneven trails. But overall, it’s a fantastic experience for all ages!

Q: What's the best time of year to do this tour? I heard the weather can vary a lot.

A: The best time to visit is generally from April to October, when the weather is milder. However, even in the off-season, the tour goes on unless it's dangerous due to severe conditions. Just be ready for some afternoon rain, typical for Hilo!

Q: How do the lunch stops work? Is food provided or do we buy our own?

A: You'll have a lunch stop that isn't hosted, so it’s up to you to buy your own food. There's usually a good selection around the area, and you can grab something local. Just keep an eye on the time so you don't miss the bus back!

Just did the Volcanoes National Park tour and wow!

I just got back from the Volcanoes National Park Adventure Tour and it was incredible! We saw active lava flows, explored the waterfalls, and the guide was super knowledgeable about everything. The Hilo area is beautiful and the landscapes change so much. I’d totally recommend it for anyone visiting the Big Island. Just a heads up, wear sturdy shoes and be ready for some walking!

Anyone gifting this experience? Need advice!

I’m considering getting the Volcanoes National Park Adventure Tour for my partner’s birthday. They love nature and adventure, but I’m worried about the weather. Should I book now or wait? Also, is it more of a hike or can we just enjoy the views?
