Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the surf lessons? I'm thinking of gifting this to my 12-year-old.

A: No age limit per se, but they do recommend kids be at least 8 years old to participate. The instructors are great with kids and will ensure they’re safe and having fun. Just check if your kid can comfortably swim and follow instructions, and they should be good to go!

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the lesson? Can you reschedule?

A: Yes, they have a flexible rescheduling policy. If the waves are too rough or it's raining, they’ll contact you to set up a new date that works for you. So don’t worry too much about the weather!

Q: What should I wear for the surf lessons? Any specific gear I need?

A: Wear a swimsuit and maybe a rash guard if you're sensitive to the sun! The school provides surfboards and wetsuits if needed, but it’s usually warm enough not to need one. Just don’t forget sunscreen and a towel!

Just did the surf lesson at Waikiki — it was amazing!

I went to Hawaiian Boy Surf School last month, and I can't recommend it enough! The instructors were super chill and knew their stuff. I’m not a great swimmer, but they made me feel safe the whole time. Caught my first wave and it felt incredible! Definitely worth every penny. I’m thinking of gifting this to my sister who’s been wanting to learn.

Thinking of gifting a surf lesson for my girlfriend, any tips?

Hey everyone! I wanna surprise my girlfriend with a surf lesson at Hawaiian Boy Surf School for her birthday. She’s never surfed before. I’m curious if it’s good for beginners and how long the lessons usually last? Any insights would be appreciated!
