Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to join this kayak and hike experience?

A: There's no strict age limit, but they recommend kids be at least 5 years old for safety reasons since it's an active experience. Younger kids can definitely join if they’re capable of sitting in a kayak, but keep in mind the hike may be a bit challenging for them. Just check with the guides if you're unsure!

Q: What's the best way to get to the launch site for the kayak tour?

A: The kayak launch is located near the Wailua Marina in Kauai. If you’re driving, there’s parking available, but it can fill up, especially during busy times. Arrive early to snag a spot. If you're staying at a resort, some hotels offer shuttles to the marina, which can be super convenient!

Q: What should I wear for the kayak and hike experience?

A: Definitely wear quick-drying clothes and a swimsuit since you’ll probably want to swim at the waterfall! Water shoes or sandals with straps are great for both kayaking and hiking. Also, don’t forget sunscreen and a hat; the sun can be pretty intense out there!

Just did the Wailua River kayak tour and it was AMAZING!

I took the Wailua River Kayak, Hike & Waterfall Picnic tour with Outfitters Kauai last week, and it was one of the best experiences I've had! Paddling through the river was so relaxing, and our guide shared these cool Hawaiian legends along the way. The hike to Uluwehi Falls was a bit muddy, but totally worth it when we got to swim under the waterfall. Plus, the lunch they provided was huge and delicious! Highly recommend it!

Considering gifting the kayak tour to my parents. Any thoughts?

I really want to surprise my parents with the Wailua River Kayak experience for their anniversary. They love nature and kayaking but have never done a hike like this. Do you think it’s too strenuous for them? Also, how’s the food? Need to make sure they’ll enjoy it!
