Q&A

Q: What’s the best time of year to go on the walking food tour in Hanalei?

A: The best time to go really depends on what you're hoping to taste! Generally, spring and fall have the best weather and more local ingredients available. Just keep in mind that the tours can be affected by weather conditions, especially during the rainy season in winter. It's good to check with Tasting Kauai closer to your planned date!

Q: Are there any age limits for participants on the food tour?

A: No age limits! The tour is great for everyone, including kids. They just need to be accompanied by an adult. The food is usually pretty family-friendly too, so no worries there. Just keep in mind that some places may not have high chairs or kid-specific dishes, but the variety is usually pretty good!

Q: What should I wear for the walking tour? Is it casual?

A: Casual is definitely the way to go! You’ll be walking around a lot, so comfy shoes are a must. Think sneakers or sandals. Layering is smart too since it can get warm, but you might want a light jacket if the clouds roll in. And don’t forget sunscreen – you’re in Hawaii!

Thinking about gifting the Hanalei food tour for my parents' anniversary!

I’m considering getting the walking food tour in Hanalei as a gift for my parents’ 30th anniversary. They love trying new foods and experiencing different cultures. I heard from a friend that the local chefs really interact with the group. Is it worth it? What’s your experience been like?

Just did the Hanalei food tour and WOW!

I can't recommend the walking food tour enough! We met so many amazing chefs and tasted local dishes like poke and fresh fruit. The vibe was just as vibrant as the food. Plan for a few hours, it’s casual but you get full! Definitely a highlight of my trip to Kauai.
