Houston's only walking tour! In this group tour, you will dive into the history, architecture, and uniquely Texan ambience of the fourth biggest city in the United States: a modern-day melting pot of cultures with an old fashioned past that is all its own. From the oldest building in Houston to the tallest skyscraper in the city, we'll go on a journey through Houston's history and architecture. Wander through the city's Historic District and see some masterworks of Art Deco architecture of the early 20th century and discuss street art and murals of today. We'll sneak a ride on Houston's modern tramline (for free!) and travel between the city's Historic District and its ultra-modern Skyline District. We will walk for approximately 2 miles. Note that this tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Q&A

Q: Is this walking tour suitable for older adults or those with mobility issues?

A: Unfortunately, this tour isn't wheelchair accessible and involves walking about 2 miles. It’s great for those who are reasonably mobile, but I’d recommend checking with the tour guide if you're unsure about your loved one's ability to keep up. They do a fantastic job of accommodating various fitness levels, but age and mobility should definitely be considered before booking.

Q: What should I wear for the walking tour?

A: Definitely wear comfortable walking shoes since you’ll be on your feet for the tour! Also, check the weather—Houston can get pretty hot, so breathable clothing is key. A light jacket might be good if you're going in the winter months or evenings, just in case it cools down!

Q: Can you reschedule if something comes up after booking?

A: Yes, you can reschedule! Just be sure to contact the provider ahead of time. They are pretty flexible, and as long as you give them notice, they should be able to accommodate a new date. Just keep in mind that weekends can fill up quickly, so try to plan ahead!

Thinking of gifting the Houston walking tour—any tips?

I’m considering getting the Walking Tour of Houston for my sister's birthday! She loves art and history. Has anyone done this tour? What’s the best part? Is there a lot of walking? Any tips would be great!

Just did the walking tour—totally worth it!

I went on the Walking Tour of Houston last week and wow, it exceeded my expectations! The mix of history and street art was so unique. Our guide was super knowledgeable, and I learned so much about the architecture. The tram ride was a nice touch too! I’d highly recommend it as a gift for anyone who enjoys exploring cities.
