Q&A
A: I'd recommend wearing comfortable shoes since there’s a fair amount of walking involved, especially around the National Mall and Mount Vernon. Dress in layers too, because it can be hot during the day but cooler later on. Also, check the weather for the day of your tour—if it's rainy, a light jacket or umbrella might be a good idea!
A: Yes, they do! You can usually reschedule your tour at least 48 hours in advance without any penalties. Just make sure to contact them directly to sort it out. It's a really accommodating service, which is great if your plans are up in the air!
A: Absolutely! This tour is perfect for families. Kids will love the Air and Space Museum, and Mount Vernon has plenty of engaging activities for younger visitors. There’s no strict age limit, but keep in mind younger kids might get tired from all the walking. It’s very educational too, so they’ll learn a lot!

Thinking about getting the Mount Vernon Day Tour as a gift!
I’m considering this tour for my parents. They love history and have never been to DC. The idea of seeing the White House and Mount Vernon sounds perfect! Plus, I like that it includes the Air and Space Museum the next day. Anyone here done this? Was it worth it? What's the vibe like?
Just finished the DC and Mount Vernon tour, wow!
I did the Mount Vernon Day Tour last week and it was incredible! Walking around Capitol Hill and then seeing the memorials was so moving. Mount Vernon was the highlight—such a beautiful estate! The guides were great too, super friendly and informative. Highly recommend for anyone visiting DC!
