This is a fun, informative tour that's easy to walk, but covers a lot of ground. We will point out the big iconic sites, but visit a few places off the beaten path as well. In this tour we’ll get you acquainted with Seattle. Starting in the Pioneer Square neighborhood, you’ll learn about the history and founding of the emerald city. We'll visit the cities art district, Chinatown-international district and meander through the downtown core. Then it’s a ride through the future past on the historic monorail, which we’ll ride to Seattle Center, the site of the 1962 world’s fair. This is a walking tour and we cover roughly 2.5 miles on foot. The tour will take place no matter the weather, rain or shine, (we only cancel during weather advisories). We recommend you dress appropriately, including footwear.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the walking tour? Thinking of taking my kids.

A: There isn't a specific age limit for the tour, so it's definitely family-friendly! Kids tend to enjoy the fun facts and the monorail ride at the end. Just make sure they can walk the 2.5 miles comfortably. Dress them in good walking shoes since we’ll be on our feet quite a bit! Have fun!

Q: What should we wear? Is it gonna be cold in Seattle?

A: Definitely dress in layers! Seattle weather can be unpredictable—sunshine one minute, rain the next. Comfortable walking shoes are a must since you’ll be strolling for a couple of hours. Also, a lightweight rain jacket could save you if it gets drizzly!

Q: Can I reschedule if the weather’s bad? I’m planning this for a birthday gift.

A: You can reschedule if the weather's bad, but they usually only cancel during official weather advisories. If it’s just a little rain, the tour goes on! It’s Seattle, after all! Just check their policy when you book to be safe.

Thinking about the Welcome to Seattle Walking Tour - Any tips?

I'm considering buying the Welcome to Seattle Walking Tour for my parents who are visiting next month. They love history and I think the Pioneer Square part will be awesome for them! Has anyone done this? How’s the guide? Any must-know pointers?

Just did the Seattle Walking Tour and it was fantastic!

I went on the Welcome to Seattle Walking Tour last week, and it exceeded my expectations! The mix of iconic sites and hidden gems was perfect. Plus, riding the monorail was a fun way to wrap things up! I’d totally recommend it for anyone visiting or even for locals who want to learn more about the city.
