Q&A
A: Yes, kids are welcome on the whale watching tours! There's no specific age limit, but I'd recommend it for children 5 and up since they might appreciate the experience more. Just make sure to keep an eye on them around the water!
A: Dress in layers! Mornings on the water can be chilly, but it warms up by noon. A light jacket and swimwear underneath are ideal. Don't forget sunscreen and maybe a hat, too!
A: Yes, they do cancel if conditions are unsafe, usually for high winds or rough seas. They’d notify you well in advance and help you reschedule. Just keep an eye on the weather before your booking!

Thinking about giving whale watching as a gift—any tips?
Hey everyone! I'm considering gifting a whale watching experience on the North Shore of Oahu to my partner. The tour is run by native Hawaiians, which I love, and I saw they include snorkeling gear, which is a bonus! Have any of you done this? What was the best part? Also, would it be good for someone who’s not a strong swimmer?
Review of my recent whale watching experience!
Just wanted to share that I went on the whale watching tour last week with Haleiwa Shark Tours and it was epic! The guides, Makua and Kala, were super passionate. We saw multiple humpbacks up close, and the snorkeling afterward was a blast! Just a heads-up, get there early for parking since it fills up quickly!
