Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for the whale watching tour? Can kids go?

A: Great question! There isn't a strict age limit, but they recommend kids be at least 5 years old to enjoy the tour. Just keep in mind that it's a 3-4 hour ride and can get a bit bumpy. Life jackets are provided, and the guides are super friendly with kids!

Q: Do I need to bring anything special for the tour?

A: You should definitely wear layers! It can get chilly out on the water, even in summer. Also, bring sunscreen and sunglasses. Some snacks are a good idea, too, but they provide water. Don’t forget your camera for those whale pics!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather isn't safe for the tour, they’ll contact you to reschedule. They’re pretty great at keeping everyone updated. And if you can’t go again, they’ll offer you a refund too.

Thinking of gifting a whale watching tour—any tips?

Hey everyone! I'm considering getting a whale watching tour from Anacortes for my sister's birthday. She loves marine life! I saw that they offer guaranteed whale sightings, which is awesome, and the tour lasts about 3-4 hours. What should I know before booking? Does anyone have experience with this? Would it work for someone who's not super into boats?

Whale Watching Dream Come True!

Just got back from the whale watching tour in the San Juan Islands, and wow! The speed of the boat was thrilling, and we saw a pod of orcas! The crew was awesome and super engaging. I went with my kids, and they couldn't stop talking about it afterward. Totally worth it!
