Q&A
A: The best time to book the Whale Watching Tour is between December and April, which is peak season for humpback whales. That's when you're most likely to see them breaching and swimming close to the boat. If you're looking to catch a good show, definitely aim for those months!
A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be at least 5 years old for safety reasons. The small group size is great for families! Just make sure they can comfortably wear a life jacket and enjoy being on a boat.
A: Dress in layers! Mornings can be a bit chilly out on the water, but it warms up quickly. A light jacket and some comfy shoes are perfect. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat, since you’ll be out in the sun for a while. And if you have binoculars, bring those too!

Just booked the Whale Watching Tour in Waikiki!
I’m super excited! I just booked the Whale Watching Tour with Captain Max for January. I’ve heard great things about the small group size, which is perfect since I’m bringing my kids. They’re 7 and 9, so I hope we get to see some whales breaching the surface. I can’t wait for the snacks and drinks on board too! Anyone have tips for the best spots on the boat to see the whales?
Amazing experience on the Whale Watching Tour!
I just got back from the Whale Watching Tour in Waikiki, and wow! It was so intimate with only 6 guests. The guide was super knowledgeable and we saw a mama whale and her calf! The refreshments were a nice touch, especially after being out in the sun. Definitely a must-do when in Oahu!
