Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this whale watching tour?

A: Yes, they can’t take kids under 3 years old on the tour for safety reasons. It’s a good idea to double-check with them if you’re planning to bring older kids too, just in case they have any other restrictions depending on the weather or specific trips. I took my 5-year-old, and he had a blast!

Q: What should we wear for winter whale watching? Is it cold on the boat?

A: Definitely dress in layers! Even though the cabins are heated, it can get pretty chilly outside on the deck. A warm coat, hat, and gloves are a must if you plan to spend time outside. I wore boots too because we got a little wet from splashes. Overall, just be prepared for changing weather since it's winter!

Q: What if the weather’s bad? Can we reschedule our whale watching trip?

A: They do have a pretty good cancellation policy. If the weather is bad and they have to cancel the trip, you can reschedule or get a refund. Just make sure to check the forecast and call ahead if you're unsure. I had to reschedule once due to rain, but they were super accommodating.

Just got back from the winter whale watching trip - so worth it!

I recently went on the whale watching tour from Monterey and it was amazing! We saw so many whales, even some breaching. The heated cabin was perfect since it was chilly outside, but it was cool getting to walk around the deck too. The marine biologist was super knowledgeable and made the whole experience even better. Price is great for what you get, and parking was easy nearby. Definitely thinking of getting this as a gift for my brother's family!

Considering gifting this whale watching experience for my parents!

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about getting that whale watching tour for my parents. They love nature and I know they’ve wanted to do this for ages. Just wondering if anyone’s done it recently and if it’s really worth the hype? What were your favorite parts? Also, is there any seating that's better than others?
