Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit for the Whitney Plantation tour, but it's recommended for ages 12 and up due to the themes discussed. Younger kids might not fully grasp the content, but families with children are welcome. Make sure to engage them in conversation about the history once you're there!
A: Fall in New Orleans is usually pleasant, but it can be unpredictable! If it rains, the tours typically go on, unless there's severe weather. Always check the forecast leading up to your visit and bring an umbrella just in case. The plantation grounds are mostly outside, so be prepared for that.
A: Comfort is key! Wear comfortable shoes because there's a lot of walking at the plantation. Also, the city tour involves some walking too. Dress in layers considering the weather, and maybe bring a hat or sunscreen if it's sunny. You’ll want to be ready for anything!

Just booked the Whitney Plantation and Soul of New Orleans tour combo!
I’m super excited! We’re going on October 20th, and I can’t wait to see the Whitney Plantation. I’ve heard the audio tour is really impactful. Plus, learning about how the enslaved shaped New Orleans culture is something I’m really interested in. I’m gifting this experience to my sister for her birthday. Any tips?
Experiencing the Whitney Plantation was life-changing!
I did the tour last month and I can't recommend it enough! The stories really hit home, and the preserved cabins are so moving. Afterward, the city tour was eye-opening too. I learned so much about the cultural influences in New Orleans. If you’re on the fence, just go for it! It’s worth every penny.
