Q&A
A: There’s no official minimum age for the Whittier Day Tour, but it's definitely more suitable for older kids who can appreciate the scenery and understand the wildlife. My 12-year-old loved it! Just keep an eye on your son during the stops, as some areas can be a bit rugged.
A: Dress in layers! Whittier can be chilly with unpredictable weather. I'd recommend a good rain jacket, comfortable shoes for walking, and maybe some gloves if you're sensitive to the cold. Even in summer, it gets brisk out there on the water.
A: Yes, you can reschedule! Just make sure to contact the provider at least 48 hours in advance. They’re really flexible and want you to enjoy your experience. I had to reschedule mine because of a flight delay and it was super easy.

Just did the Whittier Day Tour, and it was AMAZING!
I went on the Whittier Day Tour last week and I can't recommend it enough! The views along the 60-mile drive from Anchorage were breathtaking, and we stopped a few times to take photos and interact with the local wildlife. The bottled water they provided was a nice touch! It was such a great way to kick off our Alaska adventure. Definitely worth the price!
Considering gifting the Whittier Day Tour—thoughts?
I’m thinking of getting this tour for my parents as a gift. They love nature but have never been to Alaska. I'm a bit worried about the difficulty level. Are the stops easy enough for older folks? Any tips on making the day special?
