Q&A
A: Kids are definitely welcome on the Whittier Drive and Coastal Alaska tour! The hike to the glaciers is accessible, which makes it great for families. Just keep in mind that the tour lasts around 10 hours, so younger kids might get tired. It's a good idea to bring snacks and some games to keep them entertained during the drive.
A: Layering is key! It can get chilly by the glaciers, so I'd suggest a moisture-wicking base layer, followed by an insulating layer, and a waterproof jacket. Good hiking boots are a must since the terrain can be uneven. Don't forget to pack a hat and gloves, just in case!
A: The easiest way is to fly into Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Airport shuttles can get you to downtown Anchorage quickly, where the tour starts. If you're driving, there are a few parking lots nearby, but they can fill up fast in summer, so get there early or check ahead for availability.

Just did the Whittier Drive Adventure and WOW!
I just got back from the Whittier Drive and Coastal Alaska tour and it was incredible! The views along the Seward Highway were breathtaking, especially at Portage Lake. The hike to the glacier was a bit challenging but sooo worth it. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the area's history, which made the experience even better. Totally recommend it to anyone looking for a day of adventure!
Thinking about gifting the Alaska tour. Any thoughts?
I'm thinking of getting the Whittier Drive and Coastal Alaska experience for my sister’s birthday. She loves the outdoors and has always wanted to see Alaska. Is it really as good as it sounds? And how's the hiking part? She's not super fit, so I wanna make sure it’s manageable!
