Q: Is there an age limit for this ice climbing experience? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids can join, but they usually have to be at least 10 years old to participate. The guides are great with younger climbers, so it can be a fun family day out! Just make sure to check with Kenai Backcountry Adventures ahead of time to see if your kids are ready for the adventure.

Q: What should we wear for the ice climbing trip? Any specific gear needed?

A: Dress in layers! You'll want a moisture-wicking base layer, insulated mid-layer, and waterproof outer layer. The company provides most climbing gear like helmets and boots, but make sure to wear good thermal socks and gloves. Also, don’t forget sunglasses – the glare off the ice can be intense!

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the experience? Do they reschedule?

A: Yes, they have a flexible rescheduling policy! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, they’ll offer you alternative dates. Just be sure to call them ahead of time to discuss it. They really want to make sure you get the best experience possible.

Anyone done the Winter Ice Climbing in Seward? I’m considering it as a gift!

I'm planning to give my boyfriend this ice climbing experience in Seward for his birthday. I've heard it's a blast and the guides are really friendly. I’m just a bit worried about how strenuous it might be since he’s not super experienced. Also, how's the parking situation near the climbing site? Any insights would be great!
