Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the Yellowstone Lake Sunset Paddle tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but kids should be at least 8 years old and comfortable in a kayak. Younger kids can join if they’re with an adult in a double kayak. The guides are great with families, making it a good experience for all ages!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather is severe, Geyser Kayak Tours will reschedule your tour or offer a refund if it can't be completed. They usually make cancellation decisions a few hours before the tour, so keep an eye on the forecast!

Q: What should we wear for the Yellowstone Lake paddle tour?

A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly in the evening, especially near the lake. Quick-dry clothes, a light jacket, and water shoes are perfect. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen because the sun can be intense out on the water!

Just did the Yellowstone Lake Sunset Paddle, and WOW!

I can't recommend this tour enough! The guides were super knowledgeable about the area's geology and history, and kayaking around the West Thumb Geyser Basin felt magical with all the geothermal features. We even got to see some wildlife along the shore! If you’re thinking of this as a gift for someone, do it! Just keep in mind it can get chilly in the evenings, so dress warmly. Totally worth it!

Thinking of gifting the Yellowstone Lake Paddle to my wife!

Has anyone done this recently? I want it to be a special surprise. I know she loves unique experiences. Also, how long does the tour usually last? Any tips on making it memorable?
