Q&A
A: Yes, kids are totally welcome on the Yellowstone Open Air Van Tour! There’s no strict age limit, but I’d recommend keeping an eye on younger kids since some parts can get a bit long. The tour is really family-friendly, and they provide snacks and a picnic, which is always a hit with the little ones!
A: Definitely dress in layers! Mornings can be chilly, especially in the van. I’d recommend a light jacket and comfy clothes. By mid-afternoon, you’ll probably want to shed some layers, but it’s better to be prepared than freezing while waiting for Old Faithful!
A: Parking in West Yellowstone is pretty straightforward! There are designated areas near the tour meeting point. Just get there a little early to find a good spot – it can get busy during peak season. Look for signs directing you to the tour start location, and you should be good!

Just got back from the Yellowstone Open Air Van Tour – amazing experience!
I took the Yellowstone Open Air Van Tour last week, and wow, it was worth every penny (even though it's technically free)! The glass top van gave us incredible views, especially at the Grand Prismatic Spring. We saw a bear from afar and enjoyed the picnic while waiting for Old Faithful to erupt. The snacks were great too! Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique gift experience or just a fun day out in nature.
Thinking of gifting the Yellowstone tour – any tips?
I'm considering gifting the Open Air Van Tour to my parents for their anniversary. They love nature but have never been to Yellowstone. What should I know before booking? Any advice on the best season to go or essentials to pack? I want it to be special!
