Q&A
A: The High Country Explorer hike is moderate in difficulty. It’s about 10,000 feet in elevation, so there’s some altitude to consider. You'll be hiking on granite terrain, and there are some steeper sections, but the guide will help at every step. If you're worried, just take it slow and enjoy the views!
A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be comfortable with hiking. A 10-year-old can definitely join if they’re active and used to being outdoors. Just make sure to pack snacks and keep them hydrated throughout the hike!
A: The best time to hike the High Country Explorer is late spring to early fall. The wildflowers are stunning in June, and summer is perfect for enjoying the lakes. Just keep an eye on the weather; if storms hit, the guides will help reschedule your tour. They prioritize safety!

Just did the High Country Explorer hike and it was amazing!
I went on the High Country Explorer hike last weekend, and wow, it was breathtaking! The view from Cathedral Peak is out of this world. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the wildlife and plants. We spotted some Pikas and Marmots, and the wildflowers were in full bloom. I’d recommend packing a good lunch; we had a picnic by one of the lakes and it was so peaceful. Totally worth it!
Considering gifting the High Country Explorer tour - any advice?
I’m thinking of gifting this hike to my parents for their anniversary. They love nature but aren’t super into strenuous hikes. Is this tour manageable for them? Any tips on what to wear or bring?
