After viewing the high country from Glacier Point, we embark on a 6.8 mile trek to both the summit of Sentinel Dome (8,122′) and to the Fissures and Taft Point. This route presents a more strenuous first mile while the remainder of the trip is more easy to moderate. This can be a great intro-hike for the family that includes awesome scenery, experiences, and accomplishments!

Just got back from the Yosemite hike to Sentinel Dome and Taft Point and WOW, what a trip! The views were unreal, especially after that first mile of struggle. But once you get to the top, it’s all totally worth it. The guides were super helpful and even lent us trekking poles! I’m thinking of going again with friends. Anyone have tips for taking a larger group?
